Personal work. I began with a pencil drawing referencing parts of a wonderful photograph. I thought it would be interesting to add tentacles for hair and change the skin color of the subject. I then scanned my pencil sketch into the computer, added a paper background found here, and added color digitally using different blending modes (multiply, color burn, overlay, etc). I then rendered the face and added some abstract textures and lines. My tutorial is found here.
